Ireland - Donegal and West Coast

Heading in the other direction we came to the Donegal Abbey ruins. The Abbey was commissioned in 1474 with the Fransciscan Friars' monastery also being used as a burial place for themselves and locals. The English drove them out in 1588 but they returned 5 years later when O'Donnell retook the Abbey.
